If you are a working professional, an occupied student, or a full-time busy mom, then it is likely that you skip reading due to the time-demanding ten-step skin regimen. Let me throw a sense of relief that it is not about doing a ten-step process daily. Aha moment, right? Yes, it is a misconception that all the ten steps of the Korean skincare routine have to be repeated every single day. The routine, which we are going to discuss is simple yet highly effective for achieving smooth and transparent skin. Like with other products, do conduct a patch test with Korean skincare products as well, especially if you have sensitive skin. Generally, the Korean Glass Skin Routine is based on mild and natural products that are safer, healthy, and environment-friendly.

The following is the complete ten-step Korean skincare routine:

Step 1 – Cleansing using Oil-Based Cleanser

oil based cleanser

Cleansing is always the first step in any skincare routine that prepares the skin for the application of other things. But why choose oil-based cleansers? Firstly, they are superior in cleaning action to non-oil based in removing makeup, day-old sunblock, dirt, oil, and debris. Secondly, they are mild and gentle since they don’t strip away the skin’s natural oil.

To cleanse the face, spread a small amount of cleanser and massage it into your skin. Continue to do for 2-4 minutes and wipe with tissue paper or rinse off with water.

Step 2 – Cleansing using Foaming Cleanser

Korean foam cleanser

Now, wash the face using regular water-based gel or foaming facial wash to ensure thorough cleaning of all the dirt and impurities. Take a sufficient amount of the product that covers the entire face and gently rub throughout. After massaging for few minutes, let it be for few seconds, and then rinse thoroughly with water

The cleanser should not be too harsh that it disturbs the normal pH of the skin or dries out the skin. This choice of this cleanser or face wash is subjected to one’s skin type and varies when it comes to oily or acne-prone skin. Double-cleansing ensures an optimal skincare routine and does not let any residue stay on the skin which is essential for maintaining healthy skin since accumulated debris causes various skin concerns.

Step 3 – Skin Exfoliation

Korean peeling gel

Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the skin’s outer layer so they do not gather up and clog the pores. Exfoliation is done with the help of scrubs that contain tiny beads or granules and provide gentle abrasion to the skin surface for sloughing off dead cells. It can also be done using chemical peels which are considered uncommonly and require professional advice.

For exfoliation, apply a small amount of face scrub on the face excluding the area around the eyes, and rub gently. Apply gentle pressure on the granules so they exfoliate the skin. 5-10 minutes is a good time duration for exfoliating and that should be repeated up to three times a week.

Properly exfoliating the skin using the right products improves the blood flow of the skin and stimulates the growth of healthy skin cells. This, ultimately, boosts collagen production and keeps skin young and fresh.

Step 4 – Applying Toner

skin toning

Toner is a solution based on various skin-active ingredients combined to hydrate and soothe the skin after cleansing or exfoliation. They normalize the pH of the skin, offer a little cleansing action, and prepare the skin for better absorption of other skincare products. Also, they firm the skin by minimizing the appearance of pores.

Application of toner requires no instruction (simple application of liquid using cotton pads), however, the choice of toner is a critical process. Always consider a toner according to skin type and underlying skin concern. You can also choose one that gives a wide coverage in terms of treating concerns and imparting benefits such as Advanced Facial Treatment Toner.

Step 5 – Application of Skin Essence

An essence is a concentrated product designed to stimulate skin cell rejuvenation and repair. The Korean Glass Skin Routine essentially focuses on repairing the skin damage caused by hectic lifestyles and environmental stressors. The application of just a few drops of essence, pat on the skin, improves skin cell turnover that promotes a youthful glowing appearance.

Step 6 – Application of Serum or Booster

skincare serum

Serum essentially targets specific skin concerns such as wrinkles, freckles, scars, hyperpigmentation, etc. Being richly packed in nutrients, it deeply penetrates the skin cells and repairs the tissues. While this step can be done less frequently, the significance of a good serum or the booster cannot be denied since it boosts the effect of other beauty products. You can get one based on your skin needs or you can choose a general one that caters to all skin care needs such as Advanced Facial Treatment Serum. Apply a little amount of the serum on the skin with palms and absorb with the help of gentle movements.

Step 7- Apply a Sheet Mask

The emerging trend of sheet masks is an important component of the Korean Glass Skin Routine. These membranous masks are richly packed with vitamins and phytonutrients that infuse intense hydration and replenish depleted nutrients to make skin supple and moisturized.

Unpack and apply the sheet of the mask onto your face with a gentle pat so it may cover the skin completely. Leave it on for half an hour and remove it to reveal a fresh look.

Step 8 – Apply Eye Cream

The whole face is taken care of and the eye area is left unattended, it is not justifiable. To hydrate and moisturize the delicate area around the eyes, eye cream must be used on a daily basis. It delays the appearance of wrinkles and crow’s feet etched around the sides of the eyes. Also, it prevents dark circles and under-eye bags as well. To apply, roll the eye cream on the upper area of the eyelid as well as on the under-eye area if the eye cream is as a roll-on tube. In other cases, apply a little amount of cream as dots on the areas mentioned and absorb in the skin with gentle movements.

Step 9 – Moisturization

This second-last step is the application of moisturizer so that moisture can be sealed within the skin layers. Keep in mind that moisturization is done for all skin types and is even more important for dry skin. Although it is daunting to find the best Korean moisturizer for dry skin, an ideal moisturizer can also be an anti-aging skincare product thus imparting dual-action. Apply a sufficient quantity of moisturizer over the skin and massage to let it absorb entirely.

Step 10 – Apply sunscreen

Korean glass skin routine is incomplete without the application of sunscreen. A broad-spectrum sunblock formula (with a higher SPF value) is recommended for better protection from harmful UV sun rays. Graciously apply a layer of sunscreen onto the skin and repeat every 2-4 hours based on your sun exposure.

Following this routine, you can make the realization of the Korean glass skin with a long-lasting youthful glow.
